Marian Rivera is Ginebra San Miguel 2009 Calendar Girl

Thursday, November 20, 2008 12:11 PM

There is really no stopping Marian Rivera.
After showing her dancing skills on Marimar and swimming her way to the top on Dysebel. Will Marian finally decided to bare flesh this time? I hope she does.

Before she even covers FHM, Uno, Maxim, or Playboy magazine, Ginebra San Miguel is lucky enough to have Marian as their calendar girl for 2009.

The said calendar will be available in selected Metro Manila stores starting December of this year.

Former Ginebra calendar girls are Iwa Moto, Angelica Panganiban, Maureen Larrazabal, Belinda Bright, Maricar de Mesa, Aubrey Miles, Rica Peralejo, Geneva Cruz and Patricia Javier.

Is this the same product endorsement which is said to be the cause of Marian's break-up with her 7-year boyfriend Ervic Vijandre?

Marian Rivera's Official Statement on the Karylle-Dingdong-Marian Love Triangle

12:01 PM

Right after Dingdong Dantes and Karylle admitted in public that they finally put an end to their relationship and that Marian Rivera is not the reason for their break-up, rumors about Marian being the third party and the reason for the break-up still persist.

In an official statement sent by Marian's camp to Showbiz Central last Sunday, November 9, Marian said that she is hurt by the accusation but still insist that she has nothing to do with the break-up.

Here is Marian's official statement:

Puwede kayong mag-fail o puwede kayong mag-stick together lalo. Nasa inyo na po ‘yon, di ba?

"Kung tunay at wagas ang pagtititnginan ninyo sa isa't isa, at you can stand the test of time, hindi kayo maghihiwalay. Pagsubok kasi ‘yan.

"Maraming salamat."

Survivor Philippines Winner Spoiler - JC Tioseco Revealed

11:59 AM

We just received an unconfirmed news that the Survivor Philippines' Winner has been revealed 'accidentally'. And guess who's the Pinoy Sole Survivor? It's no other than Naak Tribe member John Carlo "JC" Tioseco - Hardcourt Hearththrob.

And where did we get the news? Check the last part of this article.

Here's a clip of the said news

IT seems kulang sa confidentiality clause between GMA 7 management and its production staff.

Pinoy Sole SurvivorSurvivor Philippines Winner

Although spoiler that it is, we'll still watch Survivor Philippines and see how JC made it to the top knowing that he's from Naak Tribe. But still, spoiler is a spoiler. No more anticipation who gets voted out.

If this is indeed true, it will surely affect the show as well as get the big bosses of GMA searching who the culprit was.

Girls of Survivor Philippines

11:56 AM

Last Monday, September 15, 2008, the premiere telecast of Survivor Philippines was shown and as a self-confessed Survivor fanatic myself, I can't let this tv show passed by without seeing the conclusion. I don't know but I have this inclination with Reality Shows. Maybe its a lot better than dramanovela or other fantaserye out there. Or maybe the girls are a lot fresher than those of big name celebrities. Eventhough I know that as we are watching the show, there's already a winner (for sure, this had been concluded already, probably a month ago), still the excitement of watching can't be compared of telefantasya.

So, what's interesting with Survivor Philippines? I've already watched the 3 episodes since Monday and I must say that the format is pretty much the same of the original franchise. (well of course, they can't change it.) How bout the cast? Interesting so far, I must say, especially the girls. So let me introduce them (Girls of Survivor Philippines) two by two.

Leona Rica "Nikki" Dacullo (Call Center Cutie)

Nikki works as a call center agent in Cebu City. Born and raised in Tacloban, Nikki's cute smile and pretty face once caught enough hearts to be crowned the hometown queen.

Veronica "Vern" Domingo (Taekwondo Champion)

Vern is a pretty takewondo coach who can kick any man's ass. She has various international and local titles and awards under her belt to prove it. She takes pride in her strength and athleticism which puts her at par with her male counterparts.

Chevyline "Chev" Macias (Bisayang Palaban)

Life was never easy for Chev, 26. She always had to fight for herself, especially during her dark days when she worked as a GRO and got addicted to drugs. But every time she falls down, Chev makes it a point to start afresh.

Zita Ortiga (Ang Labandera)

Washing clothes for a living seemed far from a ticket to join a reality show. But Zita's strong personality was more than enough to make her qualified for the game.

Maria Nona "Niña" Ortiz (Sporty Mom)

When she's not managing her design company, you can find Niña dominating the badminton courts. An active mom to three kids, she also works as a wellness coach to help others have healthier and stress-free lives.

Kristina "Kaye" Alipio (The Model)

A sexy lingerie model with a solid Christian faith, Kaye is any guy's ideal girl. Beyond her good looks and natural allure, Kaye is also considered a role model by peers. She is described as a motivator and a counselor. Because of her pioneering work and active spiritual leadership, she was considered one of the youngest elders in their church.

Anna Charisse Yacapin (Smart Babe)

She works as a product officer in a telecom company but she knows she's pretty and smart enough to be the host of a noontime show. Charisse, 26, has always wanted to be a host of Eat Bulaga! After graduating from Ateneo de Manila University, however, she found herself working in the corporate world away from the spotlight.

Vevherly Gador (Farmer Girl)

Born in Bariles, Cebu, Vevherly was brought up in the farm lifestyle. At first, this 20-year-old girl will strike you as quiet and timid, but once she warms up to you, she'll bravely speak her mind.

Jervy "Patani" Daño (Ang Yaya)

After failing to qualify in StarStruck, 20-year-old Patani believes that joining Survivor Philippines might just be her last ticket to showbiz stardom.

10+ Unusual Ways To Make Easy Money On The Internet If You Love Writing

4:17 PM

Here are some easy ways to make money, if you like writing. (I probably should have said simple ways to make money, rather than easy ways to make money, because there is a difference between simple and easy. But who cares, this is about how to make easy money quickly).

1. Make easy money online naming domains. The original idea comes from Dane Carson’s blog. While you can earn money as a contributor for services such as PickyDomains.Com, here is a better idea. Go to Google or any other search engine, find sucky domain names and contact their owners directly, offering them your services. The key to success is to make it 100% risk free. Inform your prospective clients that you’ll accept money only if they like your domain name. If you come up with one approved domain name a day and charge what PickyDomain charges, you can make $1500 a month. Another twist – come up with cool domain names, like SiteToRemember.Com or ItsMe.Com, register them yourself and sell them on the aftermarket.

2. eBay arbitrage. A lot of people like buying stuff on eBay, because it’s cheap. And some people never buy on eBay, because they are afraid of being ripped off. Here is your solution to making easy money on eBay. Go to Craigslist.Com and see what items people buy and sell most often. Look at prices. Then go to eBay and see, if you can get it cheaper. Once you find your niche, you can buy things on eBay (or better yet, act as a representative for an eBay powerseller) and sell them for a profit using local classifieds and Craigslist. You can do this online as well. Set up a proxy store, and when you get an order, simply buy the same item on eBay for less, substituting shipping address from your own to that of your buyer.

3. eBay copywriting. If you are good at copywriting, go to eBay and look for highticket items, like boats. Find auctions with totally sucky descriptions. Contact an owner and inform him or her that good description of his or her item is likely to increase the chances of that item being sold. Then offer your services for a 1% of the selling price. You can use free eBay software

4. Get Paid Writing Reviews. This idea comes from a blog called Business Ideas That Work. A site called SoftwareJudge.Com pays up to 50 dollars per good review. However, if you are good at reviewing software, you can do this on your own. Go to CNET or any other site that lists software. Find sites that don’t have any reviews or testimonials. Contact developers directly, offering them your review services. Good reviews and testimonials increases sales, so you shouldn’t have any difficulties convincing developers that they need your services. And you get free software and games too! Oh, and you don't have to limit yourself to software alone.

5. Social Bookmark Whoring (oops, I meant to say PR). This is really easy money online. RedDit and Digg can bring a crapload of traffic. And traffic means money. If you have experience creating linkbate titles and getting to the top, why not offer your services? Say, you charge 10 dollars for submitting news to RedDit, Digg, StumbleUpon, Furl, NewsVine, Fark and all the other social bookmarting sites. The key is to work only with interesting stories, so you don’t become a spammer. 10 news a day and you are 100 dollars richer. You can probably work out a deal with online PR agencies, because they are totally clueless about this.

6. Writing Google AdWords Ads. Every time I see “Cake Icing. Used And New. eBay.Com” type ads or “Four best sites on killing your wife”, it makes me wonder. Aren’t there any GOOD AdWords ads copywriters? Look’s like a great job to me. The ads are only three lines long and if you charge 10 bucks per ad, you can make a lot of money. And the customers are easy to find, too. Just look at all these terrible ads that Google displays on their search engine and contextual network.

7. Wacky blogs. Steve Pavlina gets over 300 dollars a day from AdSense alone, writing on wacky topics, like polyphasic sleep, astral projection and psychic development. Or take David Icke, who claims that president Bush in an alien and a reptilian. Your blog doesn’t have to be true, it just has to be interesting.

8. Blog whoring. There are a number of services, like PayPerPost.Com, that pay for promotional blogposts. Once again, you can do the same thing, cutting the middleman out.

9. Unique Personal Ads. Write memorable personal ads for online daters. Most personal ads suck. “Hi, my name is Bambie, I’m a Vergo, I’m 19 and I love dogs.” Here is my favorite personal ad. If people pay for resume writing, they might pay for a great personal ad.

10. Poet For Hire. This is nothing new. Still, if you love writing poetry, why not make some money with your rhymes.

11. Don’t EVEN THINK about majoring in English, Medieval Literature, Journalism or GET A REAL JOB, IF YOU WERE DUMB ENOUGH TO DO SO. Just kidding. If you love writing, just write, and the money will follow.

The Top 5 In-Demand Majors

4:12 PM

What's on employer wish lists? Based on the latest job-offer facts and findings, the most in-demand bachelor's degrees may surprise you, or even have you reconsider your chosen field of study.

The following list highlights the top five in-demand bachelor's degrees according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Spring 2008 Salary Survey, with starting salaries. Job descriptions are based on details provided by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

1. Mechanical Engineering ($57,821)

Mechanical engineers are curious about how things operate. Professionals in this broad discipline research, design, develop, and test tools, machines, and mechanical devices. Along with a knack for science and math, engineers need strong oral and written communication skills.

While most entry-level mechanical engineering positions require a bachelor's degree, continuing education is critical -- protecting engineers from potential layoffs or cutbacks.

Job outlook: As more engineers retire, and many professionals transfer to managerial positions, job opportunities are good.

2. Accounting ($47,429)

For those who delight in number crunching, a bachelor's degree in accounting can lead to occupations in financial and investment planning, budget analysis, tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, and auditing. Opportunities are often best for CPAs, MBAs, or professionals proficient with accounting software.

Accountants ensure that a firm is run efficiently and records are kept accurately. Expect long hours -- especially around tax season.

Job outlook: Thanks to retirees and a faster-than-average job growth due to new business and changing financial laws and regulations, accountants can enjoy favorable job opportunities.

3. Finance ($48,616)

Financial analysts and personal financial advisors gather and analyze financials and provide investment guidance to businesses and individuals. They must feel comfortable with money markets, tax laws, and the workings of the economy, and have good communication skills to explain complex strategies and concepts.

A bachelor's degree will get your foot in the door, but additional certifications or an MBA is a plus. Many finance professionals opt to open their own business; almost a third of personal financial advisors are self-employed.

Job outlook: Personal financial advisors are projected to be among the 10 fastest-growing occupations. Though job growth is strong across the board, competition is still keen for finance positions.

4. Business Administration/Management ($44,195)

Business administration professionals may work as contract administrators, facility managers, or administrative services managers in the private industry and government, where they keep offices running efficiently, conducting records management to administration to telecommunications to support services.

Leadership and communication skills are as valuable as flexibility, and being detail-oriented, and decisive. Experience can get business administration professionals promoted in smaller organizations, while formal education credentials -- including advanced degrees -- are beneficial to advancement in larger organizations.

Job outlook: Jobs are projected to grow as quickly as average among all occupations. Competition for top-level business administration management jobs will be high while more opportunities will exist for lower-level management jobs and facility managers.

5. Civil Engineering ($50,940)

Civil engineering is considered one of the oldest engineering disciplines, attracting those who are analytical by nature. Civil engineers design and supervise the construction of highways and byways -- from roads and bridges to tunnels and dams -- and work in fields such as water resources and structural concerns.

These professionals must simultaneously be inquisitive, detail-oriented, and interested in the big picture. In their designs, civil engineers must consider potential environmental hazards, construction costs, and government regulations that can affect their creations. Bachelor's degrees are required for most entry-level jobs and continuing education is critical as new technologies emerge.

Job outlook: Employment growth for civil engineers is expected to move at a pace that is faster than the average for all occupations.

Willie Revillame's Corinthian Home Robbed

4:11 PM

Unidentified men broke into the house of Wowowee host Willie Revillame at 516 Cameron Street in Corinthian Hills subdivision, Barangay Ugong Norte in Quezon City reportedly taking with them 3 million worth of watches and jewelry.

Investigators said the crime may have been committed between past midnight of November 1 and 6AM of November 3. Revillame was away during the weekend and only discovered the incident past 3AM Monday.

The Buzz Hosts Had Something to Say About the Dingdong-Karylle-Marian Love Triangle

4:04 PM

Amidst the issue that real-life sweethearts Dingdong Dantes and Karylle have broken up because of Marian Rivera, the three have yet to speak to confirm what the real score is. Dingdong and Karylle continue to deny that they have decided to separate ways, with the actor even clarifying that Marian has nothing to do with the issue. News reports say that Marian and constant leading man Dingdong have developed feelings towards each other and the actress' recent breakup with her non-showbiz boyfriend has given way for the two celebrities to pursue their alleged romance.

Meanwhile, on the Points, Opinions and Violent Reactions (POV) segment of The Buzz last Sunday, November 2, the three hosts Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino and Ruffa Gutierrez all shared bits of information in an effort to solve the puzzle. Ruffa went on to say that staff members from her previous film, Desperadas, who are now also the staff of Dingdong and Marian's upcoming movie said that the two are very close on the set. "Sila (staff) ang nagkukuwento na super-sweet daw ang dalawa kahit na walang press," Ruffa revealed.

Kris on the other hand shared that her friend Popoy Caritativo, who is also Marian's manager, told her that the actress and Dingdong aren’t a couple yet. "Hindi sila ni Dingdong pa," Kris quoted Popoy. Popoy also told Kris that Marian is currently happy now, to which Ruffa interjected, "'Yung staff ng Desperadas said, si Marian daw has never been happier in her life." However Kris emphasized there’s nothing wrong with being happy but not at the cost of someone getting hurt. Kris also said that Marian has indeed broken up with her boyfriend because of a commercial deal he did not approve of.

Boy on his part said there shouldn’t be any difficulty for Karylle and Dingdong to say if the relationship has ended and it would definitely simplify their problems. Boy also added another juicy tidbit to the topic by saying he has talked to Marian's ex-boyfriend and he was told that there is no truth in rumors saying that he made Marian chose between him and the project.

The three hosts end the topic by saying that hopefully the issue between the couple and Marian be cleared up soon. Kris even added that she’ll ask Popoy if The Buzz can interview Marian to get her side on the controversy.

oxygen analyzer sensor

4:00 PM

An oxygen analyzer sensor, or lambda sensor, is an electronic device that measures the proportion of oxygen (O2) in the gas or liquid being analyzed. It was developed by Robert Bosch GmbH during the late 1960s under supervision by Dr. Günter Bauman. The original sensing element is made with a thimble-shaped zirconia ceramic coated on both the exhaust and reference sides with a thin layer of platinum and comes in both heated and unheated forms. The planar-style sensor entered the market in 1998 (also pioneered by Robert Bosch GmbH) and significantly reduced the mass of the ceramic sensing element as well as incorporating the heater within the ceramic structure. This resulted in a sensor that both started operating sooner and responded faster. The most common application is to measure the exhaust gas concentration of oxygen for internal combustion engines in automobiles and other vehicles. Divers also use a similar device to measure the partial pressure of oxygen in their breathing gas.

Scientists use oxygen sensors to measure respiration or production of oxygen and use a different approach. Oxygen sensors are used in oxygen analyzers which find a lot of use in medical applications such as anesthesia monitors, respirators and oxygen concentrators.

There are many different ways of measuring oxygen and these include technologies such as zirconia, electrochemical (also known as Galvanic), infrared, ultrasonic and very recently laser. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Brangelina Twins' Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline a Bestseller

Monday, November 3, 2008 12:38 AM

The exclusive People Magazine photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newborn twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, sold big. As big as 2.6 million copies.

According to the trade journal, the issue is the biggest seller in seven years, and is the fourth highest newsstand seller in the magazine’s 35-year history, behind the Sept. 11 issue (4.1 million single copies), the issue covering Princess Diana’s death (3 million) and the one covering the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. (2.8 million).

The June 19, 2006 issue with the exclusive baby pictures of Brad and Angelina’s first daughter, Shiloh, moved 2.2 million newsstand copies (perhaps the extra Pitt-Jolie baby provided a bigger draw this time).

What will happen if Pitt and Jolie have triplets?
